Evidence-Based Medicine in Research

The evidence-based medicine (EBM) is the utilization of information found in scientific articles or studies that could be used to influence clinical decisions. A researcher such as a medical student would be able to formulate the research problem based on existing literature available and use it to evaluate its results to the case.  Our group was able to apply this knowledge to formulate the problem and the title of our study regarding the cases of helmenthiasis in both Cebu and Lapu-Lapu City. The said problem has already been established before so using EBM would train us on how to tackle on the problems faced by society in general. It could be used to add to the current arsenal of medical knowledge of treatment and prevention of further cases.
